Notification of Change Healthcare Cyber Incident
In light of the recent cyber incident impacting Change Healthcare (“Change”), Western Health Advantage (“WHA”) is providing support related to this incident. On February 21, 2024, Change experienced a cyber incident that impacted its systems. There is no indication that any WHA systems have been affected by this attack.
Change’s investigation is ongoing and based on information provided by Change, files containing protected health information (“PHI”), or personally identifiable information (“PII”) may have been subject to unauthorized access or disclosure. At this time, Change has not informed WHA that our data was impacted, and we have no other evidence to suggest any our member’s PHI/PII is currently at risk.
Out of an abundance of caution, Change has established a dedicated call center to offer free credit monitoring and identity theft protections for two years to anyone who is concerned about their personal data being used inappropriately. We encourage you to take advantage of this service.
Individuals are encouraged to:
• Monitor their account statements and explanation of benefits forms for suspicious activity.
• Contact the three major credit agencies to place a fraud alert on their credit report.
