On Saturday, September 28, 2019, Western Health Advantage will promote fun ways to be physically active and make healthy lifestyle choices by participating as the title sponsor of the Sacramento Heart & Stroke Walk. WHA will also field a large team at the walk and have a “healthy selfie” booth. The event is put on by the American Heart Association, whose mission is to build healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke.
The Sacramento Heart & Stroke Walk will take place at 8:30 a.m. in William Land Park. The Heart Walk is expected to draw about 10,000 participants who will take steps to be healthy for good on a non-competitive 1- or 3-mile walk while raising over $1.1 million to fund research, education and community programs.
The Heart Walk is the American Heart Association’s premier event for raising funds to save lives from this country’s No.1 and No. 5 leading causes of death – heart disease and stroke. AHA funds innovative research, fights for stronger public health policies, and provides critical tools and information to save and improve lives.
